With the recent flood of LMP cars, I've been needing one for myself, and SCX's Peugeot 908 fit the bill. I've heard some good things about it, and the car is a very nice design. SCX's replication looks quite beautiful. If, like me, you're into keeping the car looking as close to new as you can, I'd suggest adding a touch of glue to each of the rear wing supports. My 908 arrived with its left wing support outside of its slot and this led to a distinctly tilted rear wing. It's very easy for the wing to pop out, so give it some help staying in.
The car's stock configuration has pretty low magnetic downforce. With untrued tires and the magnet left in stock position, I ran the car around the track for a few laps. No good! The rear end slid around a lot and just didn't like some of the trickier turns on the track. An 8.120 second lap was not impressive. Thankfully, it's easy to get some extra downforce on this car: Just lower the magnet pod, and off you go!
I did this and gave it just a touch extra magnet while performing the other basics of setup, but quickly discovered to my dismay that the tires have an annoying tendency to rub on the body. This isn't a simple matter of trimming the wheel wells, the tires are rubbing on the top of the body with the slightest tilt of the car. This causes the car to lose speed and also affects the handling, causing it to have a top lap to date of just 6.088, miserable in the field of LMP cars.

Unmodified Time: 8.120
Race-Tuned Time: 6.088
