Review of Slot.it Alfa Tippo 33/3Slot.it has done their usual fne job of bringing us this great race car in 1/32 scale.
The finish is clean and well done, with good tampo printing. The details are well done and nicely molded. From pictures I have seen and my memories of seeing the car at Sebring, the colors are correct. The locations of the numbers and other livery details are correct also. The drive figure's uniform and helmet are correct in color; it could use more detail and the driver seems to be out of proportion to the rest of the car. Wheels are of the correct type for the period. The Firestone tires have correct period markings. The differential could use more detail and it seems a little clunky. These are just nit-picking as the car as a whole is beautifully done and has the correct look to it.
The chassis is very well done and is much cleaner than the Ferrari 312 PB needing very little sanding to get it to float freely.
The only problems I found were the front axle holder, a little work with a round file freed them up nicely, and one of my cars had a front wheel with a large mold mark on it. Both front wheels on both cars had to be trued up to get them round.
It was nice to see that the spur gear cleared the chassis on the Alfa, and did not need spacing out from the frame the way the Ferrari 312PB did. I found the spur to pinion mesh to be a little loose for my liking and I plan to file the motor mount a little and tighten it up before racing the cars.
The chassis has channels fr the lead wires and you should press the wires into them. After seeting the wires so the flag self-centers I put a little low temp hot glue on them to hold them in the channels. I had to clean up some of the mounting area for detail parts and that holds the interior in on the cars to get good clearance.
These are very good running cars and they are a good bargain when you take into consideration all of the great Slot.it parts that go into them. Slot.it has brought us another another great car for our racing enjoyment.

Ran some test laps with my Alfa Tipo33/3 on AIR(65' Scaley Sport Track), here are the results:
10 lap average with stock magnets no mods; 5.28 second .
10 lap average with stock magnets, chassis and pod filed for clearance and set up to float, wheels trued, Yellow Dog tyres glued and trued, normal tuning; 4.23secs.
10 lap average without magnets stock tyres no mods; 6.98 sec.
10 lap average without magnets, chassis and pod filed for clearance and set up to float, wheels trued, Yellow Dog tyres glued and trued, normal tuning; 5.67 sec.
I found the car to be predictable, with smooth power delivery, strong punch up out of the turns without up setting the handling. the car does need smooth operation of the speed control to go quickly.
I conducted these tests using a Parma TQ 15ohm control, as many people do not have an electronic speed control, I'm sure that the times will improve with my electronic control.
Also the cars are not fully tuned yet, the no mag test was done without any lead, and I have not polished the bushings and axles yet, or smoothed the guide flags.
My findings so far have shown me that these will be two very, very good race cars.
Cheers!
